Reporting Issues to Corel
The days when Corel maintained a dedicated bug-smashing team to whip WP8 into shape are long gone. Nowadays, with a significantly smaller staff and budget than in the past, Corel depends upon its understanding of the needs of its customers to determine where to allocate these limited resources to WordPerfect bugs, but you, the knowledgeable user, have to make Corel aware of your needs. The steps are: first, to make some reasonable checks to ensure that the problem you have encountered is, in fact, a bug; second, attempt to describe the problem in sufficient detail for Corel QA to duplicate the bug; third, follow the procedure outlined below to email Corel via the Knowledge Base.

Before making a report, apply the latest service pack and make sure that the problem can still be replicated after updating your version. Email reports should describe:
--the WP build/release
--the OS and SP of your system.
--the steps required to reproduce the bug.
--the circumstances under which the problem occurs
--whether the bug occurs if you follow the same steps on another computer
--whether the bug occurs in another version/build (if you know)

To assist you in checking your issue, the most useful resources are: the Corel Newsgroups (subscribe to the appropriate forum at CNEWS.COREL.COM, discuss in the forums here at WPUNIVERSE, and consult the Corel Knowledge Base: http://support.corel.com/scripts/ri...er/std_alp.php. There is a brief discussion of the Corel Knowledge Base at http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showth...?threadid=16400 These resources can help you to confirm your issue, suggest a workaround if such are known, and help you to describe your problem clearly for Corel QA. The volunteer CTechs on the newsgroups will frequently report confirmed issues to Corel, but be sure to make your own report, as well, because a large number of reports raises the likelihood the issue will be brought to the attention of QA. Corel tells us that they prioritize bug fixes based on the number of reports they receive – a rational approach for a software company with few resources – so it is crucial that you submit a report for each bug you find.
See http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showth...p?threadid=5600 in the Known Issues Forum for some notes that users will find useful in investigating and describing issues. You don't need to follow the format suggested in the Known Issues forum (which is really more for WPU’s own purposes), but you should put "bug report" and the version/build of WP and your OS in the subject line of the e-mail.

To use the Knowledge Base for submitting a report to Corel:
- Go to http://www.corel.com/support
- Click "Search our Knowledge Base or e-mail Corel"
- Click "E-mail Corel" tab on the resulting Knowledge Base page
- When the "Sign-In" page appears, register if necessary (i.e., set up an account) and follow the steps to e-mail Corel.
Please note that creating a Corel account will not risk your privacy or entail disclosing any confidential information beyond your email address.
